The Assurance of God’s Love
In Romans 8:37–39, Paul proclaims a truth that anchors the soul: nothing “shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
His confidence comes from conviction forged by many trials and God’s faithfulness through them all. He lists several forces that might threaten us, declaring them powerless against God’s love. This is an unbreakable bond sealed by Christ’s ultimate sacrifice.

Paul is persuaded that nothing can separate us from God’s love, including “things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature.”
Whether time, space, or spiritual entities and realms, nothing separates us from God’s grasp. It is anchored in Christ’s finished work on the cross, making it a certainty we can cling to.

This promise transforms how we face everyday life. All fear loses its grip and the devil’s threats become empty when we know nothing in heaven or earth can unravel God’s unwavering love for us in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Paul’s persuasion invites us to stand firm, unshaken by circumstances and unafraid of what lies ahead. We’re not just survivors, but “more than conquerors” through the love of God sealed to us in the cross of Jesus Christ.

Today, be confident in this: no power in existence can snatch you from God’s supernatural hand. Let that wonderful and unbreakable truth fuel your faith and steady your heart in the midst of any trial you may face in this life. The love of God never fails.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your great love in the sacrifice of Jesus. Help me understand the depth of Your love, and live boldly in confidence that nothing can separate me from You.
