All Sufficiency in Christ: To the Glory of God Alone

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
All We Need in Christ
Christ Our All
The Bible in 1 Corinthians 1:30–31 unveils a profound truth about our identity: “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus,” it begins. We don’t stand on our own merit. Everything we are flows from God’s grace, placing us in Christ.
Jesus is the embodiment and substance of all wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. Left to our nature, we stumble in foolishness, guilt, and bondage. But in Him, we’re given what we could never earn.
Total Dependency on Him
The verse continues, declaring that Jesus “is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption” by God. His wisdom guides us when confusion reigns. His righteousness cloaks us when sin stains.
His sanctification shapes us into His likeness, and His redemption frees us from the curse of damnation. These are gifts of God’s grace bestowed through Christ. God didn’t just patch our flaws but provided the ultimate solution in the sufficiency of His Son.
All Glory to the Lord
This leads to a purpose: “That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord,” it concludes. Our boasting has no place in self. Every good thing, every victory, and all strength leads back to God.
The world urges us to take credit, to chase pride. But Scripture redirects us. Glory belongs to the One who gave us everything. When we grasp this truth, humility and gratitude replace pride and self-ambition.
Living in His Sufficiency
Today, rest in Christ’s sufficiency. You don’t need to prove yourself. He’s your wisdom when decisions are needed, your righteousness when the accuser whispers, your redemption when worldly hope fades. Lift your eyes from your own sufficiency, and glory in the Lord.
OFG Prayer of Faith
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for placing me in Christ. Help me lean on His wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. Strip away my pride, and let me glory only in You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
