And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Luke 21:34–36 (KJV)

End Times Holiness

Guarding Your Heart

Luke 21:34–36 delivers a sobering call to vigilance. “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares,” Jesus warns.

The end-times judgments will come suddenly to those who aren’t paying attention. Being distracted with indulgence, intoxication, or worldly pursuits dulls our spiritual senses. Guarding our hearts means living in holiness and focusing on Christ in the last days.

The Day of Judgment

Jesus continues, “For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.” The second coming of Christ will be universal and unavoidable. Not one soul will escape its universal reach across the whole earth.

This truth must instantly motivate us to holy living. Beware, as the cares of this life can ensnare us, pulling us from God’s purpose. Staying alert requires us to prioritize eternal things over worldly pursuits and pleasures, preparing us for the Lord’s coming.

Strength Through Prayer

Christ instructs, “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” By watching end-times prophecy and praying, we remain spiritually awake and empowered.

Prayer supernaturally strengthens us through the trials of the end times. It’s not about trying to be worthy before God, but actually being worthy in the holiness of Christ, standing blameless before Him at His coming.

Living Ready

Today, live with eternity in view. Watch for the signs of His coming, and pray for supernatural power to walk in holiness. Let the return of Jesus be your blessed hope, not a deadly surprise. Stay vigilant, rooted in prayer, and trust God’s grace to keep you ready.

OFG Prayer of Faith

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your warning to stay vigilant in the end times. Help me guard my heart, watch for Your return, and pray always. Keep me holy and ready to stand before You at Your glorious appearing.

In Your holy name I pray, Amen.
